Our livestock operations have their roots in 1944, when my Great-Grandfather established a herd of pedigree Large White pigs. Nowadays, the pigs are run alongside a flock of 150 Spring lambing ewes.
Our own land is in a Mid-Tier Stewardship Agreement, with Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) options too, so having our own flock of sheep that can help contribute to our overall farm operations in a sustainable way is really important to us.
The sheep are particularly partial to stubble turnips, which we grow for their winter food source. They also help us with weed control and putting valuable nutrients back in the soil along with organic matter.
We regularly feature any pigs that we have for sale for breeding on our Facebook page, linked here.
