The expansion of our own farm holdings puts us in a position to be able to offer contract work – these often emerged as one-off jobs, but we are increasingly working with local landowners on stubble-to-stubble contract farming agreements – and other options in-between too.

Services we can offer include (but are not limited to):

  • Hedge cutting
  • Grass cutting
  • Ditch maintenance
  • Combining
  • Grain cart off the combine and loading lorries
  • Drilling, direct or conventional
  • Baling
  • Hay making
  • Cultivations
  • Ploughing
  • Subsoiling
  • Fert Spreading
  • Spraying
  • Hedge and tree planting
  • Estate and building maintenance

In the same way that we integrate our sheep flock in the rotations on our own holdings, we can incorporate the flock into the management of your land too. Using our sheep to graze your cover crops will help with both soil fertility and work with environmental schemes.

Environmental Schemes

Our own land is now in Mid-Tier Countryside stewardship alongside a Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) agreement, so we can help you manage these agreements on your land.

Our current crop rotation on our own farm is Winter Wheat, Winter Barley, then a break crop. This is either Beans, Sugar Beet or Winter Oats for milling, and lately, a Legume fallow as part of SFI to help mitigate the risk of growing a break crop. Stubble turnips also provide the dual purpose of a break crop and winter feed for our sheep.

We recognise that flexibility when it comes to managing both soil type and weather conditions is essential on our land, and on your farm too – so we decide the best break crop based on those, as well as our blackgrass control programme.

We are always actively seeking arable and grassland on an FBT or contract farming basis, so please do get in touch with us.
